Units of Inquiry

Mathematics

Our focus this month will be to continue to work on learning our Multiplication tables.

We will work on Multiplication Arrays, repeated addition and word

problems and pictures.

We will also be looking at Data Management.  The students will research data on a variety

different objects and the number of decibels it creates.  Students will need to chart this data

and write a paragraph on how these sounds may damage our hearing.

(Please use the APE method for writing.)

Inquiry

Students will be looking at how people and their inventions

of objects that create light or sound have affected our future

systems and technologies.

Who is a significant person and what is a significant event?

What things have been invented in this world that make an

impact on our global community?

Science

Read from the Pebblego Website or Science A to Z.  We learn a lot of

knowledge by reading Non-Fiction texts.  Non-Fiction also enriches our

vocabulary.  Try to find out more about how sound works in air,

solids and liquids.  When reading about light research the various

types of objects that provide us with artificial light and how they

help us to work in this world.

Inquiry Unit

I See, I Think, I Wonder
